    Onboard RAM question.

Hey guys, say I have a motherboard with onboard RAM and 1 out of 4 memory chips failed. Will the motherboard work if the faulty memory is removed or does it need to be replaced (otherwise it'll throw errors since its expecting to see a certain amount of memory)? Is it something that is manufacturer dependent?

Ah ok, thank you guys. Guess I need to find a donor board with the same RAM chips then.

Is it possible to mix RAM chips? Provided they are equivalent to each other ofcourse.

I'll prefer to replace all four chips in one go with same specs to avoid wasting time.
