Looking for info on Realtek RTD2132 ic

    Hello
Recently i received a motherboard with shorrcircuit in RTD2132, i remove it and motherboard works again, i also order a replacement to replace it.
My problem is that i can't find any info on what exactly is the Realtek RTD2132.
    Sound ic, wifi, ethernet?
    Anyone knows?

    Thank you in advance!

I would trace the circuits to what it's connected to (audio ports, ethernet ports)

look for the other common I/O chips, you can probably narrow it down

    I *think* it's audio

Found a Linux listing that says it's a DP to LVDS bridge chip:

I really hope to be something so useless because if it's audio or ethernet and i don't manage to solder it properly the laptop will be useless.

The screen is working after removal, probably has to do with DP output?
            I'll check it

The screen is working after removal ??? how is that possible ???

The RTD2132 is an eDP to LVDS bridge, and if it is soldered to the motherboard it means the PCH is not connected to the screen connector directly, right ??
So how the screen is displaying, can anyone explain plz ???

I know it's too late but can you provide the motherboard reference ???

Re: Looking for info on Realtek RTD2132 ic

It had to do with the DisplayPort output only, no big deal afterall
