    Tell us what happens when you use BudM suggestion. I would think you would want to return the trace the way it was originally and they use the trace rotation knob. Once you get it where you want it push it back in so it will stay there.

      Nothing. Unfortunately the intensity knob can't be pulled out on mine. Only the trigger knob pulls out to switch between triggered and auto sweep.
      I'm pretty sure it's only the CS-1562A which has the rotation control.

      The other telling thing is that there are no wires leading anywhere near the tube except for the ones going to the base socket.

      I also wonder if it's possible that the X and Y deflection plates in the tube are just not exactly 90 degrees to each other?

        I do not see the DC Coil for rotation control in the diagram yet.
