Hey, I have an Onkyo TX-NR636 which briefly turns on, flashes check SP wire and then shuts down.
I have followed this thread to troubleshoot https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=42365
However I have so far been unsuccessful - here is what i have done
Found shorted main transistors on Right Channel, replaced both. Replaced some shorted 0.22ohm resistors for the same channel. Checked all components on vertical board (pre-amp i think) for this channel, replaced a bunch of resistors and a couple of transistors.
Put everything back together, it blew the channel again.
So, desoldered the main transistors for the right channel, plan was to start the amp, see that the Check SP wire goes away...it didn't, further more C5441 on the vertical board was still smoking with the main transistors out of the circuit.
Remove C5441 and attached fly leads to read what voltage it is getting, reads ~110v....
Hope someone can help me out here, I have run out of ideas/talent...
