Landlady came to my door because her computer wasn't working. Simple diagnosis - her monitor had died. It would show the picture for a moment then die. We replaced it with a much newer monitor but now I have the old one.
Took it apart and replaced bulged capacitors with random used ones I had floating around. The capacities are a bit higher but I figured it would be OK? Guess not? Because it does the exact some thing.
Is it doomed or should I try to find closer matching caps?
Thanks.
