Does low RTG reading mean bad MCP

I am looking at an old A1278 820-2530 just for practise, and I have checked resistance to GND on PP3V42_GSH at pin 2 of L6995 with coil fitted and it's 3.81K. Is this reading likely to mean a bad MCP, seeing as I have been told by a reliable source that on an 820-2879 (I realise that it's a different board but of similar vintage and general design?) a resistance to GND reading of PP3V42_G3H more than likely means a bad MCP and not to waste my time trying to go any further. It has green light on and fan spin on shorting SMC_ONOFF_L to GND and RTC_32K_XTALOUT_R is 32.76kHz. PM_PWRBTN_L pulsing on start up (3.4v -0 - 3.4v) U1000/1400 both getting warm. Thanks if anyone can offer an opinion please

That's a good indication that it's not worth wasting time on it. It has to be measured with the board cold and all power drained from it. You can still try to go further if you have hope…
So what's the issue with it?

Hi Piernov, thanks for the reply but I got it to boot somehow but I'll see how long that lasts Cheers
