HP 15s-fq1512sa Help identify the chip

    Hi all,

I have a HP 15s-fq1512sa with a blown element next to M3966M. Markings not readable any more, but I suspect it's the same chip, just want to be 100% sure (pic attached).
Also, what are the chances of finding a boardview / schematics for this laptop?

    Thanks!

High-side and low-side MOSFETs are often different.
Laptop should still be under warranty.

      Thanks.
Probably not under warranty anymore - somebody messed with it before and there are parts/ screws missing.
What's my best bet of identifying the mosfet ?

The picture shows the n-channel hi-mosfet. mosfets used in a similar circuit on the board will be effective. On the +19 line.
I'm not happy to be so strong. because it's not humanly

          That's great, thanks.
I've managed to source a donor board, will update with what's what in case anyone has the same problem.

Does anyone know if the M3966M mosfet is N-ch or P-ch?

Can confirm if you can post more markings of your logic board. The HP model schematic does not appear in my database of drawings.
