    Vizio ss2521-c6 no power issue

    Hi all,

I've got a vizio ss2521-c6 that's not powering on. Initially I hooked it up to my kil-a-watt meter and was seeing it was drawing 0.06w for a couple seconds after I would plug it in and then zero out. When I opened it up I didn't see anything scorched or exploded (it's a black main PCB so I couldn't see what was the potential problem easily), so I started checking output voltages on the PSU in the thing and sometimes would get 24v and sometimes wouldn't. I reconnected the PSU to the board in case somehow it controlled the PSU 24v output over the two 24v wires coming out of it. When I plugged it back in and plugged the AC back in it did the same 0.06w draw on my meter, but also shot a spark out of the power input side of the main PCB. Being the genius I am I unplugged it and replugged it and it did the same thing again. Once I started looking closer I noticed one of the pins was detached on a APW7301 IC. I checked the datasheet and the leg that was broken/arching was the Vin for the 24V.I guess at some point that leg broke/exploded off and was arching to the IC, which had a rather nice sized hole in the top now.

I'm assuming the APW7301 is the only thing wrong with it so far, but I'm having trouble finding a replacement that isn't shipping from China/Hong Kong. Is there a suitable replacement for this chip out there from another manufacturer I could find from one of the usual US retailers (digikey, mouser, etc)? I really would rather not wait the 3-8 weeks shipping times I'm seeing for it on eBay and Aliexpress. I already did some digging on the TI website and found some that are electrically compatible, but don't have the same footprint or pinouts. Looking up replacements for these kinds of power IC's is not something I'm particularly good at so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Please let me know if anyone would like or needs any pictures of the board or more details/info I'll be happy to add it.

    Vizio m601d-a3 backlight issue
    by Mectronik
Hello, I'm working on a Vizio m601d-a3 with a backlight issue that I am having a difficulty diagnosing it. As it sits, the tv powers on, displays the Vizio symbol and with nothing hooked up it will then display no signal but you can only see half of the screen. I know it's a back light issue because the picture is there without light behind it, as I can see it by doing a light test. I've taken off the paneling and done a visual inspection. If I disconnect the tcon ribbon cable to the affected side then the entire half of the screen goes away. I've checked voltages at the LED driver from the main...

    Vizio P759-G1, Tcon issue?
    by EazyBone
Got this TV free. Guy said it tries to turn on and doesn't. I haven't seen this specific issue before but shown in video. Any way to test the screen to rule it out on these Vizio? Or anyone seen this issue before?

    Any help appreciated

    Vizio E65-E1 strange image issue
    by remmurdmd
Hi everyone. First new thread here. I picked up a TV on the side of the road. It appears to function correctly with the exception of an image issue I'm unable to describe. I've searched for “double picture” and “double image” all over the web and all I get is repair videos for when the picture is blurry and the connections are getting interference between the display panels and the t-con board. I believe this is a t-con board issue, but I haven't found anything telling me conclusively that this is where my issue is. I'd appreciate any assistance you can provide. I live a pretty busy life...

    Issue with 42 Vizio TV
    by derrickcaputo
    Hello,
I have a 42" Vizio TV. I hooked my tablet to the HDMI inputs. Everything was fine until the screen went black and now the only input that works on the TV is coax. No hdmi, no component, no rca. I tried hooking up a laptop to the Hdmi port and the computer
detected the TV model but no image.

Is there anyone having the same issue? Did you find any solution?

    Interesting E60-E3 (Vizio) issue
    by bscottjohnston
    Good morning BadCappers,

I picked up a Vizio E60-E3 yesterday. The donator claimed that it never powered on and that he checked Voltages at the power supply. I checked a handful of Voltages and then laughed when I realized I was trying to turn it on via the menu button on the back of the TV when its upside down on my TV repair bed (literally my guest bedroom).

Okay so I took out the mainboard and decided to flux up the BGA and heat it up. Upon reinstall of the mainboard the TV does indeed power up but all of the screens have a blue hue AND the video displayed fails...
