Default PS4 motherboard LEDs purpose?

I was looking over this PS4 SAB-001 board checking for any obvious damage and I came across these right-angle SMD LEDs mounted on the back of the board. I don't understand what they are there for. Can anybody help me figure this out?

If those are the LEDs I'm thinking about, they light the clear plastic insert in one of the covers as part of showing the unit is powered on. Notice the white light between the two top covers in the attached image.

OK, that makes sense. I didn't know about that light. I don't actually own or play the PS4. I am just repairing it for someone.
