    if components are getting hot you having a short in the MB what are the Components getting hot uplode a pic of the area ?
    check the resistance to gnd R523 with out power ?
    what voltage you get Q503 Source side ?
    check U500 pin 2 3 4 5 12 voltage be care full don't short the pins ?
    find out the voltage on L12 & L18 coil voltage page 7 Schematic?

      Getting hot around D502,Q504 jumper wire,fuse501,L500,C532,R523 and capacitors around it.
      Also other side of board warm inside red circle.

      R523= 3.5 omhs Q503= 2.3v
      Pins on U500, 2= 2.9v 3= 2.9v 4= 3.0v 5 = 187v 12= 2.73
      L18= 20.5v L12= 0.5v

      Thanks

          Hi, I have 096.7 kilo ohms on pin 1 and 25.75 kilo ohms on opposite pin of L506,after rechecking with black lead to ground red lead to the pins on L506.
          I wonder if this is correct still attached to board no power connected?

          Thanks Olly

              I now have a blue light when plugging in ac adaptor,but still no fan spin when pressing power button?
              Anyone have any idea where I can check on the board next please.
              Thanks

                So I have lifted 1 pin on each of L513,L516 and still only a blue light doing anything from the board,CPU fitted and without CPU.
                Can anyone confirm I have the cable connected from the board to power button is fitted the correct way on both ?

                Thankyou

                  Cable is reversed, it won't make contact with the connector pins.
                  Also no point in messing with the CPU inductors, but would be a good idea to replace the NEC Tokin.

                    Reversed both ends so blue tab down?
                    It's what another member recommended to lift the conductors as his tried helping me from the start.

                    Thanks

                      I now have fan spin and 2 blue lights on with AC adaptor. L513 L516 soldered back to board are both showing 0.988v with power on?
                      Doesn't seem to be correct voltage to me.
                      Still have a black screen too.

                      Cheers

                        Voltage is correct for that line now check again all coils what voltage is missing

                          Could be the NEC tokin cap as piernov suggested ?

                            If it is the NEC Tokin,do you know which 4 replacement chips to use so I can try.

                              Use 330uF SMD aluminum polymer capacitors from the CPU VCore section of a donor board.

                                Here is test of all coils,well I think all coils.
                                L513=1v ,L516=1v, These to are getting hot?. L503=1.10v, L501=193v not good?. L25=1.25v, L18=5.16v, L12=3.4v, L2=1.87v, L506=19v, C532=19v, L500=19v.
                                Cheers

                                  Not changed the Tokin chip yet.
                                  I am getting fan spin,blue light for power and also charge/power light and it also charged the battery. I connected the com port to TV, but black screen issue still present,and hdd not spinning up. Ram tested and seems ok.
                                  Does it now point the the Nec Tokin chip as the problem?
                                  Cheers

                                    Can the bios battery measuring only 0.3v on the board stop the screen and hdd booting or because I have power it cannot be the battery.
                                    Thanks

                                      Can anyone suggest anything else to get picture on the screen before I bin this board.
                                      Should I replace the NEC tokin first then try again or worth trying a reheat of gpu to see if it may show picture,even if it's a temp fix at least I know it was the gpu then.??

                                      Last chance for this Toshiba now,had enough of it!

                                        Yes low coin cell battery can cause issues.
                                        I don't see a dedicated GPU on this board.

                                          I have this smaller blue type battery, is it still 3v and does it have to have be blue seal surrounding it. Not very popular to find.
                                          Isn't the graphics chip next to the cpu socket?
                                          Thanks
