    Scored an Oscilloscope for 20$

    just got this the other day. its dirty but i saw it turn on at the e-waste recycling place i always get stuff from. i have no idea about oscilloscopes except that i heard if you want to fix electronics you need to learn how to use one. so...where should i start?

      start by cleaning it and inspecting the insides - dont try to plug it in.

      it will obviously need new sockets on the front.

        That almost looks like it was flooded - you need to thoroughly clean it inside out.

          +1 on checking it inside before testing.

          It might have been stored in a damp barn or shed which could explain dust and corrosion or flood or outside even. I've seen some stuff come from all of those looking the same externally.
