I would definitely recommend it to anyone just starting out and wanting a cheap hot air station. The pump is a bit loud, but that just encourages me to turn it off after I use it, even if I'm going to need it again in a few minutes. Maybe that's why it's lasted so long. Mine came from Amazon too.

stj highly recommends buying a soldering iron that uses full length tips......not the type that are short and screw into element...which is most common
