    LF-8800 any good?

So I got anoyed with my ERSA Irons (one older 16W and 1 rahter brutal 150W Soldergun), I decided to get a decent soldering station...

I'd like to have a desoldering gun, like shown in this video...
So I took a quick look at what's available here in Germany and I found an LF-8800. Price seems quite reasonable with something under 300 Bucks. And I have the option for a hot air gun.

So is it any good and worth the money?

It seems to come with some nice other things...

Assuming that's a Xytronic LF-8800, would be prudent to stock up with spare parts as well

If my experience is anything to go by:

essential replacements are almost unavailable when the machine is a little older

Unfortunately there isn't much choice here in Germany...

      The other things I've found:
      http://www.amazon.de/AOYUE-Int474A-E...Entlötstation

      http://www.amazon.de/AOYUE-Int474A-E...Entlötstation

BEWARE: Links are in German. But you get the model numbers...

Still, since I also need a soldering iron...

And a Hakko FR-300 isn't available in my region (at least I didn't find a shop)...

Well, since there ain't no good options, I risked it and ordered it...

Next month I probably will order a pair of SMD tweezers...

Got it, used it a couple of times already.
The Iron is good. What's inside the box is also pretty nice.

But I have problems with a jammed desoldering nozzle...

How do I really use such a thing? Is this a normal thing??

              Re: LF-8800 any good?

The solder gets stuck in that nozzle, most times right before the filter, where the tip is not heated anymore...

your not holding the button long enough - it should shoot through the nozzle and splash against the back of the catch tube assembly before it sets.

have you watched the pace video for vac desoldering?
