    hardwire a brocken Magelan maestro 4000

    bought broken for 1$.....its missing hardware..dc port connector...
    i just want to hardwire my cig lighter cable to it...
    im including pics an notes i made...

    id appreciate any help....

    You are going to use the 12V to 5V 1A.
    DC jack solder pad 2 is for +5V input, pads 1 and 4 are GND (they are connected to GND PLANE), pad 3 is not used.
    BTW, I have the 3100.

      do i have to use the 2 grounds (pad 1 an 4 ).,. or can i just use the (+2 an 1-).... just 2 wires...
