    Scepter X322BV LCD backlight issue

    Backlight issue

Backlight won't turn on fully and I have never seen this type of symptom.
MIP320FL-2 has connector CN3 doing some really weird things.
When I tap that cable coming out, the back-light activates for a split second, but then goes away. I looked at the connector joints and they were good. I re-flowed half the board anyway with no change in symptoms.
If you take a look at the first picture, you can notice that only a part of the back-light turns on. I checked every wire to make sure it had good continuity, I checked all the solder joints on the board and re-flowed, I made sure all CFL tubes had proper contact. I still don't understand how touching that wire and messing with it makes the cfl's turn on 75% for a split second. I tested in and it has 0 ohms of resistance. No clue what I am missing here.

Honestly don't work on Scepter tvs often, so just not sure what is going on.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

Alright well, about to exceed the time limit on this set. Just going to replace the entire board and update later. Hopefully once I get the new board ill be able to compare readings and figure out the original issue with this board.
    Will keep the forum updated.

Are the ground return wires of the CCFL connected back properly? It looks like they are not getting enough high Voltage or the return wires are not connected.

the return wires of the CCFL? There are only 2 wires seem to go to the CCFL on each side, no other wires.
Also SJ board came in and didn't fix the issue. Unfortunately I did the classic mistake of listening to my customer about what was wrong with the tv.
Originally this set came in 4 months ago or so with no back-light. Same thing I don't work with scepter TVs so I just got a new board for it and gave the tv back to the customer. Since the tv had similar symptoms the customer told me we had the same issue again and need the board to be replaced again. I don't remember if the first time around I had just a little back-light or not, so I just assumed I did, but clearly something else is going on here.
Just to make sure, but the main board couldn't cause this issue right? If it did wouldn't it just be similar to the problems the vizio tvs have with the EEPROM going out and causing the back-light not to engage at all?

I know this thread is old. Did you ever figure it out? I have same model no back light at all. Blue power light comes on & you can see image with flash light.

also trying to figure this turd out, have some of the usual bad winbond chip symptoms, tv won't tune channels, remote turns on blue led on front but doesn't change channels or anything, button board doesn't respond, get tv to come on after many attempts but as soon as turn it off won't turn back on, winbond chip is 25q32fysig, was looking at datasheet and see a reset on pin 7, does that mean I can reset it? or would that do any good?: https://www.datasheetq.com/pdf-datas...c-Winbond.html
