All I can tell you it was one of the old screw in fuses with the fuse block that needs to be inserted in the panel. The fuse was hot and there was some arcing going on between the blocks fingers and the bars inside the box. I think I exchanged the upper heating element 3 times until I got it. After that my dryer started popping fuses. Same corrosion on the fuse block and arcing to the bars. Must be the very high humidity we have.

if the element is not plated with something like nickel and is pure copper then it can develop tiny pinholes in the surface,
combine that with moisture and the internal winding can rust and bridge to the copper shell.
very common in imersion water heaters - the rust will build up until the pressure splits the copper open if you dont have an RCD breaker on it!

These heating elements expand so much when hot, that the wire gets longer and can push through the MgO and short. I think most failures are thin spots in the wire element which run super hot and expand too much, short to the tube or just go open-circuit.
They seem to be NiCr or Kanthal wire inside. I don't believe the (oven) moisture problem because it's near impossible to get enough past the end seal and inside the tube, to corrode the element so badly. MgO is hygroscopic though.
        Tubular heating elements data.

Immersion hot water water heating elements, I've seen the sheath get covered with mineral deposits and develop hot spots. Or corrode and micro leak inside.

With clothes dryers, the heating element is open coil? I find if the vent is not connected, duct not sealed good or partially blocked- it blows the moist air into the dryer and laundry room. Lots of lint dust too. It might be what is eating the fuse blocks, unless you live seaside or something.

Hello everyone my oven is less than 2 years old and all of a sudden recently when i run the oven for 15 minutes or so and i am done with it and shut it off. after about 10 minutes it starts chiming and randomly putting it in different modes like the touch screen is being touched but no one is around it. I have tried to reset it by unplugging it multiple times and no luck. I took it apart to see the main board and everything looks fine. I am wondering if i should replace the main board or if its in the control panel. the touch screen is very responsive and works like it should. its only acting...

Chasis bond to neutral to overcome oven tripping problem
          by schnauzer2021
          Hi,

I have a 6 years old Rowenta table top oven. The oven have both convection and grill function.
Last Christmas I used it to roast a turkey with the convection mode for about 4 hours without any problem. When I switched to grill mode to deep browning the turkey for the final half hour, the power trips after a while.

I have not been using the oven since then. Last week, when I try to use the oven again, both convection and grill mode trip the power supply a few minutes after turning it on.

As I was too busy with my work, I leave it to the repairman...

SEF 551.10 - Error starting the reflow oven.
          by bpjl
          Hello,

When starting the SEF 551.10 reflow oven, the following problem occurs:

It seems to me that this is related to corrupted software. Does anyone have files that can fix this device? Or maybe someone uses such an oven and is able to make a sector copy of the memory card located in the computer controlling this oven?

PS.: Of course, appropriate emails for help have been sent to the manufacturer and distributor in my country. No response yet, but I don't expect much. It's a fairly old device and from what I know, it's no longer...

MSI MAG Z390 Tomahawk BIOS temp, allways at 0ºC and CPU goes protection 800Mhz
          by foshland
Hi to all, my motherboard (bought second hand as faulty, but now working after cleaning the ram slots) have a strange failure that shows 0 Celsius degrees in BIOS, because of that, the CPU goes to protection mode and gets stuck at 800Mhz.

Since its a 8-9 Intel generation, I know the CPU temp is the hottest temp of the cores (as i have read in intels documentation) so its not a diode or sensor on the board.

External temperature (motherboard temp) is working OK, 27ºC more or less

In windows, all the software I have tested shows correct the Core temps

          concerning gtx675m vram temp
          by mosfetratus
Is 98C vram temp are safe? Less demanding games goes 80ish.

Funny thing, there were old non stock thermal pads very botched, so i replaced them. After, temperatures remained the same, but performance (fps) improved significantly. With both thermal pad application GPU core temp was similar.

furmark goes about 104C, amperage keeps rising so do temps.
