Hello dear, I live in Argentina and I try to repair TV. In this case it is a 55 "Samsung TV, model UN55J5500AG. That due to a lightning in a storm burned the power board, I replaced it with a new one and with bad luck that the mainboard also has problems. The forum and find similarity with the schematic that comment, as the IC Z3015PI1, fundamentally, and I saw the photos uploaded, and although it is not the same mainboard, it is very similar. And I have the same problem I burned the IC207, in my In case of the IC206.
My concern is to find the schematic of the mainboard. You will have this schematic. And know if they could fix it. From now many thanks and greetings.

Hello

I am in Scotland, and now the new proud owner of a used(saved from the scrap heap- less the remote control) LG 42LE4500-ZA.BEKDLJG.

Someone had cut the plug off the cord, which I replaced. When I turned it on, nothing... No lights or sound of any kind. It is completely dead.

I removed the rear cover and noticed a 2 inch burn patch above the power supply board(the larger of the only two visible). At the top left of this board is a bar-code label marked- TADV1608032022108 (1.7). At the bottom left, stamped to the board, a series of boxes for different models. The one that they utilized is marked- J238 YP42LP(Someone blacked-out the last two characters) EAY60803202.

Directly below the burn mark, I found the source. There is a small split in the insulating cover of a very small Capacitor marked HK 221K 1KV.

I examined the entire board carefully, and found no other components leaking, bulging or suffering any visible signs of distress.

My Questions are-

1, What might make this small Capacitor short-out so dramatically?

2, Is this common for LG TVs?

3, Should I replace the Capacitor, or the whole board?

I found 3 fuses that I will check for continuity. I have a good Amateur's understanding of circuit boards. I have fixed my family's audio/visual equipment and appliances for 40 years. I am outraged at today's consumer, that discards anything that goes on the blink after the warranty ends. My Father owned his color TV for 35 years(I replaced large blown capacitors twice for him), and this smart TV was sold only 4 years ago!

I have included pictures for you to view.

Thank you for any advise you have. John
