![]() Ok, for my first post here is a shot of 5 popped caps on my Nvidia Geforce 6200 graphics card, kept getting a driver error which I took at first to be a Vista/Nvidia compatability issue.
There is no manufacturer name on them, they are silver with a blue semi-circle and text on top, FZ72 1000 6.3V. The pressure relief is "K" shaped. I take it these are 1000 microfarad..any ideas on the manufacturer? Cheers |

![]() This is first bad news I've heard for Samxon. The use of GC on the VRM seems odd. Granted, the VRM-out is more critical, but shouldn't low ESR would be used everywhere on the VRM?

![]() I take it that's an Intel Socket 478 Processor not a 775 , with it's 20pin connector.
Replace all the capacitors immediately. : ![]() |

![]() lookie what i found in a 1HE (1¾ Inch ; 44,45 mm high .. guess that its called "RU" instead of HE in english (HE = Höhen-Einheit (= Height Unit))) Server PSU.
PSU: EMACS MPW-6150F ("Auto Switching") low profile PSU.. running rather hot because the only fan is a hard working (and thus VERY noisy) 40mm one... busted hard.. PCE-TUR 10V 3300µF the yellow stuff is just glue... found it everywhere in that psu... looked more like they glued the components in instead of soldering when i first looked at the PSU ![]() ![]() the tops of those caps are still flat. but all of them had the rubber bungs more or less pushed out.. Weird thing is: the only secondary side cap that survived was a freakin Fuhjyyu (on the 12V rail) ![]() what the f....?! o.O Last edited by Scenic; 09-08-2008 at 04:45 AM.. |

![]() Some bloated G-Luxons in an el-cheapo Austin-branded PSU:
![]() (the jamicon is not original, I had already begun re-capping the psu) Vented Jun Fu caps in an Allied-branded PSU: ![]() For anyone noticing that there is not a single spec of dust in the psu, its because the caps failed from sitting for 4 years! The psu has exactly 0 hours of use, all it ever did was sit in my room. I was not at all pleased with this, as my psu (the Austin above) had just died and this Allied is all I had to replace it with. ![]() Quote:

![]() YC capacitors are common in Aspire power supplies.
Yes, they might be as bad as Fuhjyyu, just not so commonly used.

![]() Hi all, my graphics card went out on one of my pc's recently. (I had a back up luckily)
Here is a shot of the card below: ![]() I am wondering if I should bother to try and replace them. I guess first step is to find the right replacement. Also, I am wondering whether to replace just the blow caps, or some others too. |
