    cpu card?

I was looking at these, not sure how i got to them, but they are very interesting...

idk what they do, that one looks like a proprietary card for a motherboard that needs the cpu/ram/IO on a seperate card, but there are other weird ones.

weird, i wonder if you can put those in any single cpu system and make them a dual? As far as i can tell the are just a mini-itx motherboard on a pci card...

    Re: cpu card?

    those are SBCs (Single-Board Computers)

you put them onto "stupid" backplanes (a row of ISA/PCI slots connected to each other)

    often used for industrial stuff...

        I have something similar
It's an 8088 that fits onto two full length ISA cards and plugs into a dummy backplane.
Powerleap also made similar cards for a while. They made good render systems.

@ 370: as told, they're SBC cards and you can't have a SMP system with them: they replace the former cpu or conflict with them. Not x86 systems used them as expansion or compatibility boards: old Apples, Amigas (with expandeable case: so the 1200, 2000, 4000) and such could run alternatively their OS or Dos and old programs in the same machine.

Ohh, I found an SBC board today at the center. o.o
I read this thread the night before and read the wikipedia entry to! XD

I also found what I assume were rackmount PSU's as well...
