    SPA POWER9 Power supply

I need to find the number of IC1 as it has been ground off, the only part of the number I can read is the last two numbers 45
There is a number on the board... NSFS-1310
The ic looks like this part from digikey (596-1078-5-nd) TOP250Y
If I can't find the original number i will try that part. (or find a higher wattage one like top2**)
This power supply is from someones hot tub.

Let me know if you need any more information.

It looks like one of those ST-Wxxx, or TOP242 series. The last pin on the right the Drain pin. Is pin 4 connected to the primary side circuit ground?
See if the connections are close to what is shown on page 20.
D1, D2, resistor and a small blue caps are the RCD SNUBBER.
R6 (6.8 Ohms) one end is connected the AUX winding, and another end is connected to Anode of D?, small lytics cap (STARTUP CAP, plus leg should be connected to the Cathode of D?) next to D? are connected to the AUX winding for the running VCC for the IC, so see which pin on the IC is connected to the positive leg of the start up cap.

Actually its closer to page 21, Pin 4 (s) is connected to groound, I suspect the control circuit in the ic is bad, (the 1uf and 47uf) have been changed, on pin 2 (x) I have around 30 ohms to 5(f) gnd, and pin 3 (x)is around 11 ohms to 5(f) (ic pins removed from circuit)
R11 is good but I only have about .2 volts at pin 2 of the ic and pin 3 is lees than 1 volt also, the r9 also checked correct (checked out of circuit)

So if you trace it all out then it is more likely to be made by TOP then.

          Re: SPA POWER9 Power supply

Yeah, thats what I figured, I'll order a couple and see how it works, I just thought maybe someone had worked on one of these and the number was'nt ground off on theirs.
          Thanks
That 45 looks like it was part of the date code, looks like the actual number is below that on the ones I see at digikey

whenever you have a blown TopSWITCH you should replace the startup cap, because it's often the cause.

If it is a TopSwitch, It has no number so I'm only guessing, I will have to order a couple and see how it works, I quess the company just wants to sell new power supplies or they would not have done that to the ic, bastards.

                Re: SPA POWER9 Power supply

Hi, I just joined this forum and found your very old post about fixing the NSFS-1310 PSU board from a Milennia Spa Power9 13.8V 10A switching power supply. Seems like you were heading toward replacing IC components in the startup circuit. I know it's a long time ago, but do you remember whether you fixed this PSU board? Thx
