Re: How is called that compound that glues components on the PCB?
Some even say things like "Organic Acid" or "Low Odor" but those are still not suitable for electronics!! They are all designed for building, roofing, bathrooms etc.
It must be Neutral-cure designed for electronics, indeed."Tantalum for the brave, Solid Aluminium for the wise, Wet Electrolytic for the adventurous"

Re: How is called that compound that glues components on the PCB?
I just bought some of this stuff for attaching heat syncs to chips ... and I could swear that any attempt to rip the heat sync off the chip once this stuff cures, it'll probably rip the chips face off before letting go... lolsigpicComment

by Sam ScarboMy Sparkle (SPI) PC power supply has broken. Originally, there was totally no power output. The 5V-standby was not there. I have replaced a few bulged capacitors but not helping.
I was trying to do more troubleshooting but burned more components. Some got burned so badly that the markings were gone. And also, the markings of a few transistors were gone because the component surface was worn out somehow.
If you happened to have disassembled the same PSU model, please help to provide the markings of some of these components.
See the attached two pictures of the small...09-18-2024, 08:29 AM -
by User2025Hi,
I am working on a Surface Laptop GO 3, which is the new release 2024 with a i5-1230U processor. Originally, it had a 256GB SSD, then the owner attempted to upgrade it to 1TB SSD by himself. "Surprisingly", it did not boot afterwards, then changed back to the original SSD, did not boot either.
It turned out to be that just a couple of components had been knocked off when the owner was trying to get off the SSD cover with his beloved screw driver.
I do not have another board of same model. Although I have a Laptop Go 2, the layout of that bit...04-29-2025, 04:13 PM -
by EndlessmistHi everyone
Here is the case that i'm trying to solve.
(short intro to explain what happened)
I bought second hand Surface Pro 4 and when I tried to reinstall the Windows it appeared there was the password on UEFI. Seller don't reply anymore. I decided to reflash the UEFI chip to remove the password. So I need to remove the chip from the motherboard first.
I have basic experience of repair tablets and phones, like battery or display change. So i opened the Surface Pro 4 and removed the motherboard successfully.

by summerwhiteI have a DJI drone that is not displaying a video feed anymore after a repair.
When tearing down the DJI drone to fix the armature there was some hot glue next to the camera connector that i had to remove.
Now there are missing components either because they got pulled off or because they where never placed.
I have two reference images from XXZ and a photo of mine.
I'm truely hoping someone has another DJI Mini Pro 3 that they can help me identify what these components are and if they are necessary.
On the board view from XXZ they...3 Photos -
by BoyanHello Guys,
Can you please help me identify these components from the motherboard. I saw a similar topic, but it was for HP840 G4 (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...arging-problem) Are those described there the same components?
In the first picture, I have circled in red the burned components. It was due to short switching positive with negative. Probably the motherboard will not work, but I can try to repair it. It is a laptop for experiments,...3 Photos - Loading...
