![]() that's it, the 2.5v reference.
the pullup *if it's fitted* needs to be replaced by a 2k2 resistor. |

![]() part numbers mean nothing on that board - that r16 is related to a battery charger.
use your meter to resistance-check between pin27 and 5v (pins 4 or 6) if it's over 100k then we assume there is no resistor. check with probes both ways. |

![]() lm4040 pin1 is not used.
just cut it off. those caps he added are .1uf across the power for extra smoothing. he also changed the 78L05 regulator for something better. |

![]() just remember the pin numbers on the pdf may be for the 28pin dil package.
here is a schem of a GM328a showing how your kits probably are - or atleast close to. |

![]() you know, for that old board, this may be better:
http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/idc-connectors/0471109/ then you can re-program it without removing the display. good thing RS has no minimum orders ![]() |

![]() you swap it with the ??431
BUT the pins are not in the same place, you need to cut one pin off the LM4040 and then put it in offset to one side. |

![]() btw, do you have kynar wire?
personally i would skip the cheap chipsocket - just more contacts to add resistance. |

![]() if you already soldered it then may as well leave it for now.
kynar is fine insulated silver-coated wire that is good for patching boards. it is fine enough to go through the pcb with component pins. you dont need it, but it's nice to use. a bit expensive though. |

![]() EZ studio's chips are protected.
no big deal as it's just the regular code from the author. try this one. |
