Mine had less space also, as I remember it was one of those AT-style cases. By that, I mean the panels and the top were integrated in one big chunk of metal that you'd slide upwards. Also the chassis was semi-closed where the PSU was (I think it had a Codegen as far as I remember, or something else around that with a 6 pin AUX connector) just like on AT cases.

In any case, it was better than Frontier's cases. I can see why goodpsusearch said Frontier sucks. My fingers still hurt from the cuts! Even all my Deer cases are better quality than that thing.

that sounded better than the factory psu!
Ordered a second hand 15v 6a toshiba charger for £8 delivered which looked to be the best / cheapish option then pick up a 3pin din plug from maplins for a couple of quid.

Do you know the pin outs off the top of your head?

you can hack the eeprom in it too.
i know how to mess with the backlight and auto-off delays.
i intend to disable both - I DECIDE when the light or meter turn off.

Cheers done the trick, you wasn't joking it was a bit fiddly putting it together but worth the effort as the system sounds bloody fantastic.

Really pleased with them, think the 6a PSU is helping as have a serious punch. Was losing clarity when cranked all the way up then noticed the speaker casing had come away, looks like the glue has perished but will give them a clean up and glue back together and jobs a good one.

A better value than this is the PeakMeter PM18C.
I have one after seeing it on eBay and it having good reviews. I got it for 21$ shipped, arrived in 2 days.

It can measure caps up to 100000uF, ACV up to 750, DCV 1000. I put 850 ACV on it on accident today, didn't blow up, just beeped rapidly basically saying take me the fuck off whatever you're measuring. Can measure amps up to 20A, comes with 20A thick leads as well (they are thicker than my Radioshack 10A leads, that's for sure) It's also Cat 4 600V rated, compared to cat 2 and cat 3 on the ANENG. It's also got a flashlight on it as well. The display is HUGE, super easy to read. Can also measure hFE, Hz/%(duty cycle) and temperature as well. It is also true RMS which it is definitely, as it compares well to my 100$ Radioshack true RMS meter.

For what it is, I'd prefer it over that meter.

Grabbed a few more bargains yesterday boot sale. Everything for £9

CoolerMaster CM Storm Trigger mechanical keyboard
Humax PVR-9300T freewview HDD box + remote
2 x freeview hd boxes with remotes
Asus slimsline external USB powered DVD writer

Tested keyboard and humax so far and both working. Keyboard is grimy as fuck but worth pulling apart and sticking in some soapy water.

I don't think the humax is HD but works perfectly and hard drive is good. Also one of the boxes a satellite HD by SLX.

Tested everything and surprisingly everything working. Now to find a key cap puller and some fucking gloves. Let me take a pic, so gross

Got 2 Asus tower systems for free.

System 1 is:

Asus S800 System in mint condition
P4S800MX motherboard
Pentium 4 3GHz 800FSB
2GB RAM
150gb IDE hdd

All caps are panasonic.

I added a better AGP GPU, the onboard was weaksause. It runs W7 x86 nicely, as a matter of fact, this post created from it.

System 2 is an Asus TW100-ES
P5N-VM WS motherboard
Xeon E3120 3.16/1333 CPU
8GB RAM
250gb HDD

All polymer caps.

It does work, but the case is beat to hell...so I'm going to transfer the innards to a different case.

ohh, there was also an Acer AL22116W monitor in this bunch. PSU & signal processor boards had to be recapped.

Now you've got me wondering if I should recap my Benq FP71G+ I recently fixed. It has Elite caps, and the only brand new caps I'm able to find are Samwha RD caps (General Puropse ). Any idea if motherboard grade 16v caps (Panasonic, Rubycon MBZ or ZL or UCC KZE and KY) will work?
