Hi,

I have HP Elitebook 850 G8, locked BIOS. Has anyone tried with this tool?

This tool doesn't work with 32MB file but you can post your bios and EC file here.

I will extract both bios chips if I find them

Probably the one under keyboard is the one I need to flash, right?

I will do it in few hours.

Hi, I have a problem with RCUnlocker. Checksum is still the same even after unlocking.

I have tried flashing chip on back side with method from the video i linked 3 posts above. But it is still asking for bios admin password. Also when i turn on the laptop it is showing company logo, not HP, but company that used to own that LAPTOP. might that be the problem why flashing did nothing?

Any help is welcome.

HP EB 840 G8 BIOS locked. Is the chip needing reprogramming a Winbond 25Q256FV on the underside of the board and is it the only one needing such work?

Post your bin file, I'll do the unlocking for you. If in doubt, post both bins, I'll figure which is which.

Dump and save the file 3 times, then check all 3 files are identical (if you use a utility like WinRAR or similar, you can ZIP or RAR the files, then open the ZIP or RAR resulting file, on the far right there's a column with CRC32 values, if all they match all the files are exact copies).

Man, I learned something good today, thank you, it will save a few minutes and lots of headaches if not done properly.

Thanks, now all I have to do is figure out how to make those bin files. I`m an utter newbie to all of this, so please bear with me.

In an attempt to learn more I downloaded the RCUnlocker rar file and using Zipware I extracted it as an .exe fil to a desktop folder. when I open the ,exe file in the bunch of files in the folder all I get is a white rectangle with three different colour one liners texts and nothing more happens at all. WTF? What am I doing wrong?
