    Lg 50pg60

    I picked up an LG 50PG60 with a blank screen but has sound.

    I pulled the Y Buffer and checked for IC shorts and it seem to be ok. I am not sure how i would check the Y-Sus and Z-Sus boards. I checked the power to Vs and Va and they all seem to be within spec.

    First time trying to fix a TV let alone a Plasma. Have electrical knowlege but no electronics expert.

    See link below for a video. Screen comes on bright and then goes dark. There are two vertical bands towards the right of the tv screen (bottom in this video as the TV is sitting sideways).

    Pictures of the boards would be handy.

        OK so this model should run and display an image with the z-sus disconnect form the PSB.

        Does it?

          So i disconnected both power connectors to the Z-SUS. TV comes on, although not the initial bright screen. Still see the two bands on the screen as before.

            Sorry I don't see what bands your talking about in your video. Video isn't of great quality.

            You're going to need to check voltages on the y-sus.

            VZB and Vy

            Vy is located here. Negative probe on - test point, positive to the leg of the resistor.

            Can't see vsc but it will be there somewhere.

                Vy = 180.6V
                Vsc = 150.4V

                See attached pic of when the screen comes on bright and then it goes dim. I get those vertical bands. Don't know if its something after i removed the Y-Buffer boards or before.

                  OK so y-sustain is working fine.
                  However Id probably stop working on this TV as by the looks of your picture the panel is toast.

                  Black vertical bars are never a good sign for a plasma.
