Re: Samsung LA32R81B Not Turning On

Unfortunately meters are not that usefull for checking capacitor.
Does it look oK, not damaged or out of shape in any way.

Could you confirm you still have 378V across the pins of CP803 and what the voltage is on Pin 11 of ICM801

The voltage developed across RM824 is not quite high enough to switch off QM805.
However with the figures given above:-
If the PFC voltage is 378V and you do the calaculations using the resistor network RM819 to RM824 then the voltage across RM824 would be 3.68V more than enough to swith on ZDTM801 which then turns off QM805. Something is not adding up.

if i tried to feel the cap, it feels like it is no longer flat, like in the middle part it feels like it shrink, it is also not very smooth, like you can feel a slight bulge on ends of terminal.

i certainly would change that capacitor its a common failure on samsungs

update, replace the cap with 18n 630v since electronic shop here does not have this, saw the replacement on google, also saw a thread here that 22n can be used as well, tv is now working. thanks a lot guys for the help specially to dick who never gave up. thumbs up to you guys

Indeed again, if Dick can't figure it out, you better just toss it, glad to see it's fixed.

I think in fairness we went through every possible check we could before nailing down the true culprit. Thankfully killpatrick did not give in, so full credit to him.

Absolutely, I hate when people give up when they're just about to crack it...perseverance gets the job done.

It's fun to help nice people who appreciate it, sometimes you get a real grouch or someone that thinks you can instantly tell them what's wrong with very little clues or they end up fixing it BUT never report back what happened or they expect like 50 answers in 5 minutes time, hate when those happen.
