Denon AVR-1609 Power On and Off

    Hi,

I had one friend receiver that has a problem. It's a DENON AVR1609. When i turn on, the received relay click, everything is displayed and turned OFF after 2 seconds. The red light flash interval of .5 seconds.

I replace 3 IN4007 diodes on the main pw entry supply that was faulty. It does the same problem. I found 4 IN4007 diodes in the main exit power where the 2 fuses are located in the transformator input in a board that show "0" of reading in circuit. I've unsoldered, but when unsoldered, measures came back to life by reading 0.5 in diode testing? WTF? i've tested 3 times before unsolder them.

I know that received has a lot of problem. Can someone help me with that please? Im stuck with the same problem. Thanks.

    Any help is appreciated.

Components need to be measured out of circuit.
How do the original diodes you replaced measure ?

is the unit is going into protect mode as one of the speaker outputs maybe shorted?
Also try the reset procedure in your manual.

here is a link to the service manual. It's too big to upload it here.

        New ones are 0.564;

Short ones are "O". But same problem than before.

I've already try the procedure. Not responding. I can't access to the error logs. When i try nothing happen.

Are these the diodes you replaced? This power supply must be working otherwise you will not have blinking LED.
Did you take the measurement when the receiver is still plugged into the outlet?

Can you explain which diodes you changed and which are giving short in circuit? Maybe worth checking out those power resistors. Maybe those changed value.

Re: Denon AVR-1609 Power On and Off

I changed the D523 and D524. (Fiirst attachement) was replaced.

The other one tested in circuit has no value is the seconds and 3rd attachement).

Also check on the 3rd picture, we see an burn spot. Is it possible that the transistor has blown? How can we measure that?

              Thanks

the transistor you can test with the diode check function of your DMM.

I guess all you have left right now is to measure if all voltages are there on the PSU.

Hi, I'm troubleshooting a Denon AVR-1709, which from what I see is very similar to the 1609 you messaged about in 2015. I need a service manual and tried the link you posted but no luck. Just wondered if you have an clues how I could now get either or.? BTW, the unit I have has similar issues to that described in this thread/post.

If you Google "AVR-1709 service manual" you will find the schematic
