    audio chopping/freezing on PC

    Hi guys.
On one of my PCs with integrated sound card (Asus Formula VIII motherboard) I've noticed that when playing music no matter over speakers or connected headphones I could hear like how can I explain, like music freezes in a split of a second every once and awhile.
I hear just a tone like bzzzzzz,in a split of a second and back to normal.
It's like when you listen to music on your PC and it reboots and you hear bzzzzzzzz in a split of a second when PC reboots.
Now I'm wondering what could cause this issue?
I know for sure it ain't speakers cuz same happens on headphones.

    Re: audio chopping/freezing on PC

By "chopping/freezing", do you mean like a part of the sound will repeat over and over for a quick moment? (like when a video game freezes or when a CD skips very quickly)
Or is it more of a burst(s) of parasitic noise on top of the audio, without the audio actually skipping or freezing?

The 1st could be a driver issue or buggy drivers. Also have a few old systems that do this, and I have not figured out what causes the issue so far.
The 2nd could be just a matter of your sound card picking up stray noise from the rest of the motherboard circuits. Sometimes, you can fix that by muting inputs that are not used. But other times, it could be just due to poor circuit layout on the motherboard. Given that this is a pretty high-end board, though, I don't think it would be poor circuit layout.

Perhaps you can make a recording and upload it here?
I don't know if recording through Stereomix with Audacity would allow you to capture the phenomenon... if the board even lets you record through Stereomix (a good deal of modern boards don't/can't for some reason.) If that's the case, you should be able to record the sounds with a M-M 3.5 mm jack on both ends - simply connect one end in the audio/speakers Out and the other in the audio/Line In. The play some sounds and record audio with Audacity (choose Microphone / Line In for the input and set the volume levels correctly, so that you're not clipping.) Then save file as MP3, Zip it, and upload here, if you do get a chance to capture it.

RCA WHP141 wireless headphones wired up
      by momaka
OK, this one dates back to 2015! I thought I had posted this, but realized I didn’t when I posted a picture of something else. So here it goes…

Back in 2015, I bought a pair of RCA WHP141 wireless headphones at Micro Center for $2. I even mentioned it in the best cheap/free scores thread right here. Just forgot to follow up with that.

As mentioned back then, these are (were) 900 MHz FM wireless headphones. No modern day Blutooth or anything like that. I knew they wouldn’t be great headphones or even that good… but the price was right! So let’s take...

Macbook Pro 15" 2018(820-01041-A) Freezing, Rebooting, Kernel Panics but only with connected Battery
      by CornholioGSM
      Hello,
I have here one interesting problem.
      Macbook Pro 15" 2018(820-01041-A)
Laptop comes to me with freezing and rebooting problem. All inside was relatively clean and no water damage. Only visible problem was one swolled cell on battery...all was looking like batt problem.
I have put inside new - not original batt, but problem with freezing still. I am able to boot into os, then pc can run few seconds, then freezes and reboot and reboot until force power off.
Quickly i am able to see battery information...batt is detected normally in os with power cycles hours...

Samsung Galaxy A22 - strange problem with sound / speaker
      by cazi1001
      Hello,
      I have a Samsung Galaxy A22 5G with a strange error image.

If I have a call, I can't hear the voice of the interlocutor and he can't hear me.
If I switch on the lower speaker, I can hear the interloutor through it and now, he can hear me too.

If I listen music via Youtube, even the upper or lower speaker don't work.
If I switch louder or quieter, the sign on the screen show me a headphone.
If I plug a external speaker via Jack plug or USB-C, I can hear the sound.

Does anyone have any ideas, what the problem could be?

      Asus Rog G513qr Freezing
      by martin83
      Hello everyone.

I am here to ask for help identifying a problem with an Asus Rog G513qr, Ryzen 9 5900x and RTX 3070.

The laptop turns on but turns off or freezes when connecting a USB flash drive (even during the ROG logo). Even without using the USB ports, the laptop is unstable and when the charger is disconnected, it freezes.

A few months ago, the laptop started freezing when powered only by the battery and in power saving mode.

After replacing the NVME disk and replacing the liquid metal, thermal grease and thermal putty, it got worse and...
