Kanto YU6 active speaker power board schematic please

    No power , with F1 ( F5A ) O/C

    There's a S/C reading from 8V rail to GND .

R14 & R17 ( see picture ) are cooked . Need to identify them so that i can continue with repair .

Connected in parallel , therefore most probably same value , which i suspect is going to be low .

No info coming up on a Google search.

    Power board number PCB 160926G1

      Same problem here https://forum.hifiguides.com/t/my-ex...s-broken/20554
Found an FCC document but its too blurry when you zoom in https://fccid.io/QKH-KANTOYU6/Intern...Photos-3185198

Thanks very much & i see what you mean regarding blurry picture .

I make them both out to be 2R2 .

Would be most grateful if anyone could confirm this .

Re: Kanto YU6 active speaker power board schematic please

That is what they look like (2R2) they seem to be the source resistors for the mosfet, if this is what they are, R25 connects the mosfet source to the CS pin of the ic5 and many times when the source resistors open, full supply voltage is applied to the CS pin, which usually has a max of around 2 volts.
So replacing the mosfet and resistors may not repair it. and the ic5 needs to be replaced as well.
What are the numbers on IC5?

                T8 ( CS1N60 ) S/C . It's an N-CH MOSFET , manufactured by CR Micro . Found a seller on Ebay.

                  Probably not worth continuing till i can identify & source IC5 ( 32J01d )

                  Pins 5 & 6 measuring S/C

                  I believe it's package type is SOT23-6

                  Can anyone help ?

It might be the On-Bright OB2532, Check the datasheet to see if the pinout matches

Thanks so much for your help RJ

Followed pads on PCB from device & they do seem to correspond with datasheet .

Will update once parts arrive .

Parts arrived from China , therefore continuing with this repair .

                          Also discovered Schottky Barrier diode D10 ( SB360 ) S/C . Replaced with the more powerful SB5100.

Re: Kanto YU6 active speaker power board schematic please

                                Yet another sticking point .

                                I'm back to values of R14 & R17 .

Removed & cleaned them & fairly certain that they are not , as i had previously suspected 2R2 .

If you look at picture , The first number does look like a 2 .

The third has a flat top and is potentially a 3

                                It's all on the second number . Can't make out if it's an R , or 0 .

Could really do with some clarity on this one .

Regards R14 & R17 , went with my initial thoughts of using 2R2

Happy to report that all the effort seems to have paid off .

Speaker now working & on test .

Re: Kanto YU6 active speaker power board schematic please

Good to here it is working. It may be that the values are 2R7
Check if the mosfet is running warm and not too hot. Usually small smd resistors like this and used in the source of a mosfet are under a few ohms in value so it is likely an `R' not a `0' The R represents a decimal
2R3 is not a standard value but 2R7 is

Re: Kanto YU6 active speaker power board schematic please

Unfortunately I have the same problem with my power supply in the Kanto YU6.
In my case, the resistors R14 and R17 and the fuse are blown.

Can someone tell what voltage CN3 (V+ / GND) should have? This is the main supply for the power amplifier.
According to the label, CN2 should have +8V / GND / STB (what is STB? control voltage for standby?)

Thanks in advance for any help.
