Dell Latitude E7480 CXWHP BIOS??? TPM not detected...

    Hi,

I have Dell Latitude 7480 motherboard with TPM chip not detected fault. Bios update disabled the TPM chip and no longer have the option in the BIOS.

Please share your original dump if you have DP/N: 0CXWHP part numbered motherboard with 25Q128FV chip. I have tried reflash bioses from other E7480 boards but no luck, computer not booted and/or working properly.

If you have skills for re enable the TPM in my current dump also let me know.

    Thanks

This is not a BIOS related problem. It is a hardware problem of faulty chip or TPM chip firmware. The solution is to remove the whole TPM functionality from BIOS dump and reflash the BIOS chip.
Still not tested, because I have replaced these mobos under warranty so don't have proper success on that, but can try...

                  Few things you can try
1.Update or Downgrade the bios Version
                  2.Me Clean
                  3.Try another working bios
4.Disable PTT protection during me clean which disable automatically when you do meclean.
5.If you know exact string and can remove complete TPM part from bios.
6.If there is TPM Update from model officially try to install and try the luck.
7.There is ways to enable TPM from windows also,
8.Complete remove Tpm module from board (Assumption Not tested)

These are few steps can try for solving TPM cases

PS Some of them have been working in some of the model and some are not still needs to be tested.

If anyone wants to add something to list most welcome.

The first thing to try is a new CMOS battery.

A few more suggestions here https://mrtechbot.wordpress.com/2019...tialize-error/

                      Yes Thnx for addition!!

This is also a valid basic point
also in some laptops there is no Cmos batt. But its in Main Battery also try remove the main battery and hold down power button 30 sec and can also try this step too.

TPM Issue permanent Solution is change of “TPM” Ic from the another parallel board till now tested in 10+ boards working without errors and after updates also not any issues or error were reported so far !! May be some one else has some more idea do share !!!

PS: New TPM chip may work too , we have not tested that practically.
