    Are ESD safe tweezers necessary?

I read that the risk of static electricity discharge is because of the plastic grip of the tweezers.
If I buy pure stainless steel tweezers without any plastic grip wouldn't that remove the risk of static electricity discharge and be good enough?

My experiences with ESD vary greatly based on where I live. In humid climates, the sorts of casual contact (to grounded things) that normally occurs was usually enough protection -- I rarely wore a grounding strap.

OTOH, the climate, here, is extremely dry for most of the year and static charge seems to accumulate between BREATHS!
