    Why Electricity is on Ground?

    Dear members,

I have got a mainboard belonging to Dell inspiron n5010 laptop.
I discovered there is electricity on the ground plane on this mainboard.
Whenever the power is connected, if I touch the mainboard's ground by my finger, I feel a bit of electricity.
What component is defective that caused this?
    How to solve it?

    Thanks

How about if you touch any metal part of the laptop, do you get the shock?
Did you verify that you AC adapter is safe and it is the original power supply? Does it use 3-prong plug?

Re: Why Electricity is on Ground?

Only metal parts that are connected to the mainboard's ground have electricity. For example, CPU's heatsink.
The AC adapter is the original one with 3 wires: 19v, Ground, and ID.
The 19v seems stable. No point on the mainboard seems shorted.

Re: Why Electricity is on Ground?

I observed the ground-electricity problem just in one day. Today, I observed there is no electricity on Ground.
What can cause the ground-electricity problem in a mainboard?
Can it be discovered by looking for short on the mainboard?

if the psu uses a 3pin mains cord, your house has bad earth - or the charger/cord has a bad connection.
if your psu has a 2pin mains input then it's normal.
