    Sysprep/mini-setup problem

I am trying to setup an image to be the template for our new VDI project. I have run into a problem with the mini setup setting the network information. I get this error "an unexpected error has occurred while changing your computer's network identification." I can then click OK and it goes on just fine and does set the proper name and workgroup.

    Here is the Netsetup.log

I assume the problem is here ..
    NetpCheckNetBiosNameNotInUse: for 'WORKGROUP' returned: 0x57
04/04 19:17:01 NetpCheckNetBiosNameNotInUse for 'WORKGROUP' [ Workgroup as MACHINE] returned 0x57

I do not know why it is checking the name workgroup. I even made sure to change the default workgroup name in setup so that the name workgroup should not be present at all.

Thank you for looking and any help you can offer.

The error code can stand for multiple things in this case it seems you have a duplicate name on the network either a machine or group.

Later on it checks to see if PCN is available and when it return 0 it went ahead and set the group.

I'm not familar with sysprep but I would check over the configurations again and try to find anything relate to the workgroup name if not check your test network and see if there is a duplicate somewhere, maybe your AD/PDC?

      Re: Sysprep/mini-setup problem

All of my images are doing this check. The only one returning an error is the one on the Vsphere. I "solved" it by uninstalling the nic on the final image. It runs mini setup without a problem then reinstalled the nic when windows loads and all works perfect.

Need valid BUILID and FEATUREBYTE for an old HP elitebook 840 G1
        by harryhirte
        Hi there,

after I broke the bios chip (leg broke off during soldering, probably a manufacturing defect; it came of with a chunk of the plastic case), I am trying to get the box working again with a replacement chip.
For that I need to set a valid BUILDID and FEATUREBYTE. The Mainboard is Rev. 730804-001 and originally Windows 7 was installed.
There is no sticker on the case and partssurfer does not have that information either.

Would anybody be so kind to look at the info screen in the bios and copy those for me?
I would like to install linux on this...

        Programming KBC IT8987VG ASUS TUF FX506L RT809F+PEB
        by araxnido
Dear friends, I want to share my experience repairing an ASUS TUF FX506L gaming laptop motherboard: DABKXDMB8E0_F_BKXD. Boardview and schematic are available, as well as the BIOS and ITE ROM.

When the customer brought in this laptop, it was initially dead; it showed no signs of booting for any reason. After hours of measurements, checking each stage, MOSFET, and seeing if there was a short circuit in any capacitor, I discovered a strange 0.7V leakage voltage on the 3V_S5 rail, particularly on the PL9 coil, with the board not powered on. There were 3V_LDO and 5V_LDO voltages, which...

Panasonic TH-L42D25A checking the PSU output voltage
        by electron_jj
Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum. I have a Panasonic LED TV which doesnt turn on and is blinking 4 times repeatedly when I turn on the switch. The TV does not respond to the remote control so I had to turn on using the physical switch on the side of the TV. When I turn on the switch the 4 x blinking starts and repeat itself until I turn off the TV. There is a black screen. I turned off the light in the room to check the panel and I think there is no backlight as far as I can tell.

I have been inspecting and testing the capacitors and diodes in the power supply board to try to...
