    HP zbook 15 g2 - sound ( noise) problem

When I use earphones , the sound from the earphones has a noise problem. When I stop sound( e..g put video in mute mode) the noise remains a little longer and then stops. The problem is ONLY when using earphones.

Under Linux it is the same as with Windows 10.

What can it be ? Thanks for help

connect a desktop speaker to the earphone connector of the laptop. Then check the output sound.
Possibly, the audio processing circuit of the laptop got defective.

Thanks for your reply. Do you mean a capacitor on the path from audio chip to earphone connector can be a culprit?

yes, that is possible. But I have not enough experience on audio controller ICs.
