    Laptop VIT M2400. Works Intermittently

    Hi all.

    Receive a warm greeting.

I have a Laptop Brand VIT, model M2400.
    CPU i3 2330M
Plate: Rev. 2.3. Hannstar. E89382, it's the only thing written.

When the charger is connected, the equipment turns on lights but does not do anything, does not respond to the keyboard, there is no image on the screen.

Equipment was disassembled to look for components in short circuit, they were not found, I have an equal plate and compared with it, since I did not find a service diagram.

I measured the signal on the bios pins and watched a train of sporadic pulses, extracted the BIOS chip, made a backup, did the same with the other plate and compared both backups, the problematic plate was very different from the plate reference.
Then record the new information on the chip.

I installed it, connect power and the motherboard turned on, but when I turned it off to connect the hard drive, the fault reappeared.

Tente all the voltages in the coils, except the voltage of 0.44vdc, this voltage is absent when the equipment does not turn on, the rest of the tensions are correct and during the failure, a whistle is heard. I can not determine where that whistle comes from.

Connecting the laptop to the power, without the CPU and Memory Installed, just makes the attempt to turn it on, but the voltages start to oscillate between 0vdc and 5.1vdc or 12vdc for the case of transistors or mosfet that are close to JP8103.

After turning the computer on and off repeatedly, the motherboard restarts and works well, with the hard drive, the computer shuts down if it goes into suspension, when it tries to wake up, it immediately shuts down.

Upload photos with the voltages obtained in the on state.

The zone demarcated in blue is the one that stops working when the fault occurs, the IC controller has all its correct voltages 3.3v / 5,1v, 19,1v. Check the component's datasheet and I can not determine what activates the UGATEG outputs

    What else can I check?
    Suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

Polk Audio RTi100 Plate Amplifier won't power on and intermittently honks and buzzes
    by MrCommunistGen
My childhood best friend was killed about 9 years ago. His parents are finally letting go of his things, and they offered me his Polk RTi100 tower speakers. The Polk RTi100 towers are one of a handful of designs from the early 2000s that is a full range 3-way tower with a built-in self-powered subwoofer. This is accomplished with a plate amp integrated into the speaker input panel.

I think they used them for a while, but they've been sitting for at least a few years now. After about 40 hours of driving to their house and back (both they and I have moved in the last 9 years) I got...

Powersupply has all the voltages - Monitor still no power
    by Capacitorial
    Hello guys,

I have a Philips 240B7QPJEB. The monitor seems completely dead.
I opened it and measured the voltages of the powersupply. I found that a mosfet was dead and replaced it.
On the connector, that goes to the TCON board, all voltages 15-19V and 5V are present.
The small connector on the left of the PSU has two cables with 18V and all the other have 0.2V. It connects on this small connector on the left ontop of the panel. I guess the backlight? Seens fine I guess.
The weird thing is, that the Power LED is powered over the TCON board.
    On The TCON...

Dell ATX PSU won’t start, but forcing it works fine?
    by CapLeaker
Got a case of something new weird at work. There is an old 2nd gen Intel i3 in an old “Pizza box” shell that has a small form factor power supply. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures and model number off it.

Anyway, I get to work and get to look at this computer. Standby LED on the PSU is on, but the computer won't start. Hmm o.k. take the battery out of the main board try again, nothing. O.k. then… unplug the power supply from the main board and put in a full size ATX PSU (yeeeesss! Exact that blown Powerman IP that I fixed a while back), plug it in and the old...

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
    by rounin
    Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

    🛠 Original Issue
    The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.
