    Need help identifying Ceramic Capacitor

I have the following ceramic capacitor that I would like to identify. I need to purchase another one like it or an equivalent. Here is the text on the capacitor:

Capacitor is Yellow in color. It has three lines of writing:

    VF05
    0221
TK RU (RU = Underwriter's Laboratories Logo)

If anyone knows an equivalent on fleabay please let me know. Thank you I appreciate your help.

        It is MOV/Varistor (Designated as VAR1). 5D = 5 mm Dia., 221 = 220V

Why do you think it is bad? It is not blown.
What kind of device are you working on and what is it not doing?

Thank you! It has no resistance and no capacitance. How do I test if it is working? Which would be the correct replacement on that link? It is on a light motion sensor.

There is nothing wrong with it, it will conduct when Voltage exceed the rating then it conducts into low resistance, the capacitance is really low in pF range. It is a protection device, it is not needed for the circuit to operate. Look some where else for problem as to why your device not working.
If you want help troubleshooting, you need to up load good clear pictures of the whole top side and bottom side of the boards. What kind of testing have you done so far?

Thank you budm for the explanation! So far I have tested the capacitors and they all seem to be good. I am attaching some pictures of the board. Thank you I appreciate your help.

you never said what the symptoms are.

if this is mains powered - check that redish polypropylene cap

Looks like a motion detector board from a outdoor light. (Heath/Zenith SH-5597 or similar) If I'm wrong I know "someone" will say I'm wrong.

The red polypropylene capacitor has .73 microfarad. Not sure if that is what it should have.

Close! It says "SL-5318-A" on a sticker and on the metal plate it says "SL-5316-A".

That red wire is going through the hole to one of the two lights.

so off-board it should meter around 560nF

I have not removed it yet but on board it measures .73 microfarad.

well combined parts are 730nF - that's why you lift one end to test them.

I removed it, it has .57 microfarad.
