hoping someone can give me some direction. working on a hisense model 55r6e. I believe there is a backlight issue, as in no backlight. Have not worked on these type of back lights. I assume there called edge lite? There are 4 sets 2 at top and 2 at bottom. ledger on power board labeled for cable to main has 3 pins at 12v. I assume its for the backlights? All voltages on pb are there and seem to be correct. When I probe the leads going to backlights { there are 4}it reads 124v. after removing 2 sets of the backlights and testing each by applying 12v . None will come on. What is best to test backlight. Im I using the correct voltage. I can post pics if needed.

Re: hisense 55r63
Post pictures of the power supply (both sides), Must be 55r6E. Is it a RSAG7.820.7748 power supply board?
The 160 volts should be the backlight voltage, 175 tells me the string is open, I suspect the strings are wired in series, one wire will have the 160 volts,
Shopjimmy lists 4 strips of 12 led's on each strip.Last edited by R_J; 06-05-2019, 04:05 PM.

Re: hisense 55r63
Ill check PB number and post pics. I didn't do flashlight but did unplug main, no difference. the backlights are not the usual strips. I will post pics. This is a new kind of beast to me. I wont be able to post pics till tomorrow. But here is the name and number on strips if you want to look them up. HOUSING 3360L-0349A There is 66 led's on one strip. Two strips on top and two strips on bottom. Im not sure what voltage to apply to test. !2v did nothing. also I tried 3v on several single led's , nothing.

Re: hisense 55r63
Most individual led's are either 3 volt or 6 volt so 12 volts won't light a strip. without seeing the power supply board or knowing its number its just a guess. You measured 124 volts on the leads to the backlights, was that measured on all four leads to ground?
They make a led tester to test the strips.Last edited by R_J; 06-05-2019, 09:00 PM.

Re: hisense 55r63
The 12V is not for the LED circuit. The LED power supply /driver put out over 100V to drive 12 LED strings. Look at the Voltage chart printed on the board.
This looks to be your board.

LG EAY60803101 (3PCGC10008A-R) Power Supply / LED Board
1) The question is, are you 100% sure that the backlights did not even flash on for seconds when TV is turned on?
2) We need picture of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards so we can see how they are connected together.
3) We need Voltage reading for all the pins of the power supply connector P201 when TV is off and when power switch is activated, you MUST put down pin NAME and follow by Voltage reading for each pin so we can easily what you have and do not have. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...3&d=1559833945Last edited by budm; 06-06-2019, 09:42 AM.Never stop learning

Re: hisense 55r63
sin error = 0 , 12v =12.47 , 12v = 12.47 , 12v =12.47 , gnd = 0 , gnd = 0 , 3.5v = 3.5 , 3.5v = 3.5 , gnd = 0 , gnd = 0 , 20v =20.46 , pwr on =3.5 I then had my test lead on the pwr on pin and hit the power button. I got a long beep about 10 sec. lost 3.5v and power button went out. I unplugged tv then plugged back in. now the only voltages I get is 3.5 on the two 3.5 pins. WTH!

Re: hisense 55r63
I thought I did. what I posted was voltages right after plugging in tv. I then had the positive lead on pin marked pwr on and predded the power button. there was a 10 sec. long beep. after that the only pins showing volts was the two pins marked 3.5 with read 3.5. I don't know what happened. I assume something shorted out on power board. Also I don't hear a relay clicking on power board anymore. Before it would click when ever tv was plugged in. also before when tv was plugged in the power button would light up and when it was pressed, button light goes out ,then a quick beep then lights back up.

The exposed pins you see on the top side of the board are ODD number pins, for the EVEN number you need to probe with skinny tip on the wire entrance side of the connector.
We need to know if the main board is ending the DRV_ON and the PDIM1 control signals or not for the backlights to come on.
When PWR_ON pin has 3.5V it means the main board sends the PWR_ON signal to turn on the switched 12V and 20V.
The PWR_ON Voltage should toggle when you toggle the power switch, so toggle the power switch to get 3.5V on the PWR_ON pin again then report the missing Voltages that you have missed.Last edited by budm; 06-07-2019, 08:20 PM.Never stop learning

I messed up somewhere. I think I missed a pinvsync?
