    LG 65uh5500 screen issue

Replaced LEDs and found screen has cracked corner - didn't see it originally when I got the TV, no illumination. Unit delivered from back of a pick up truck wrapped in a drop cloth. Should have known better to check it first but didn't. I'm wondering if there is a way to salvage the screen by eliminating ribbon feeds to the damaged section. Thinking I may also have a T-con issue too. Removed & cleaned T-con ribbon cables & connectors to no avail. I have heard that the ribbons go bad and a lot of complaints online about the failure rate of this TV, that even LG techs can't remedy. Any suggestions appreciated, all ribbon cable checked for defects, none found. I've dealt with cracked screens before but they run horizontal and kill the screen, hoping this might be a different case.

    thanks,

You can rip off the flex ribbon on the leftmost side (on the bottom) to block signals to that section but looks like there is other damage as well.
