    Sony KDL-47V5100

Picked this tv up for $10. The backlight comes on as seen in the picture but nothing on the screen.
At this point I'm thinking it's a mainboard issue.
If needed I can take readings if you want.

Maybe take the shield off the tcon board and see if you have about 12 volts on each side of the fuse, black probe- on chassis ground, red probe+ on each side of fuse.

What happen if you have ribbon cables between T-CON and the LCD panel connected one at a time?
Can we see good clear pictures of the T-CON board?

          T-con.

No change when trying either ribbon disconnected.

Sorry. I edited my above post to say that didn’t change anything. Didn’t see you had posted again. Trying to avoid too many posts.

Typo in the title also. It’s a KDL-46V5100

Do you have a solid green led on the front?

No, just a solid red standby and amber pic off/timer led.
I also just noticed the backlight turns off after about 15 seconds and then come back on. It repeats that, nit sure if it’s because the shield and heat sinks are off of the t-con.
I will put it back on this afternoon.
Also it doesn’t respond to the side buttons. I have to plug it in and unplug it. I don’t hav the remote.

Already tried disconnecting the buttons. I’m assuming that’s what HSR board is? No difference.

Did you try a firmware update? One there says for 46V5100, did not see 47V5100, maybe recheck model number: https://www.sony.com/electronics/sup...loads/W0006532

Ok, didn't see post 8, what do you get if you have cable from powerboard to mainboard unhooked and plug ac into powerboard? Did you try the update with a different thumb drive? before anyone says it's a sony not a samsung, just don't.
