    Possibly Zener diode identification

    Hi Everyone. I have a shorted diode marked 15A 435. It's most likely a Zener since it was connected with the anode to the ground. I tried to find its reverse voltage value on the internet without success. Can anybody help?

    Post a picture or at least tell us the case style.

      Reverse protection and freewheel diodes are also connected anode to ground. Perhaps also picture of original circuit could also help deduce type and value.

        Sorry Guys, you are right. I should have posted some pictures. The circuit board is a part of the Caterpillar in-cabin control display (a bunch of alarm lights and displays). Board number CAT 106-1154. Pictures attached. The diode's very bad quality (dark) photos are due to the barely readable markings, so I had to play with lighting under the microscope to show anything.

            Is this a 24V system? Caterpillar uses house numbered parts.
            I would expect it to be a TVS for some solenoid output, protecting the nearby mosfet/transistor. Or protecting power for the board, but it's too small really.

              I suspect the 15A is only part of the number and the 435 is the date code located under the 15A
              I would take a guess the complete number is:
              1.5KE
              15A
              435
              Too bad all the pictures can't be posted here as well
