    Re: Samsung qn55q60raf powercycle

I realise it’s an old thread but did the OP manage to root cause the problem? Facing a similar issue on my 55” Frame TV.

The testing is pretty simple, unless there's some specific way the tv is made that requires a different method, but try it this way, if you are having a powercycle/rebooting deal, start with unhooking the panel from the t-con, or unhook panel from the mainboard if there's no stand alone tcon, try tv, did it stop cycling? if yes problem in panel or panel connectors, if it's still cycling problem could be on the mainboard or cable, on a lot of samsungs not all, if you unhook the cable from powerboard to mainboard then plug tv into power, the backlights will come on and stay on, this usually means that the backlights and powerboard are ok.

If you have 2 ribbon cables going to the panel, you unhook one side then try tv see if it quits cycling, then try the other side same way see if there's anything on the display might not be some tvs may need to be connected up to get a display, then if it's still cycling after that, unhook both cabes and see if it's still cycling and carry on as above.

So, I have found that Qleds ,single or dual cable , have a loop to enable the power supplies located on the main board. any disconnection of ldvs cables will stop the restarting of the TV.
also, no proof yet, using the tape trick may damage the main board power supplies by disconnecting the protection loop and enabling the power on loop.
i think that i have damaged two boards.

i am still trying to figure out looping.

Doubt very much taping will damage ANYTHING, haven't seen it in my work or on any forum, more likely getting broken mainboards.
