    bios chips

    hi guys im trying to fix this laptop (compaq 21nr) that uses w25q32fvsig bios chip, somehow cant be erased
    so i have laying arround an mx25l3206e chip
    the question is, can be replaced the w25q with the mx25?

    you can replace 25q32bv

      It depends on the supported list of bios chip in your bios. If MX25L3206E is listed, then only it will work. If you dont know how to check that, then post your original bios backup here. Someone will figure it out for you.

          Open the bios with UEFITool,click on the small triangle next to Intel image,then Descriptor region. In the right hand column it will say: Flash chips in VSCC table: .Search on google for Atmel 1F4700,Winbond EF4016,Amic 373016,Macronix C22016 to find the full bios part number.Another way to find the chips is to open the bios with Intel flash image toolkit and look at the vscc tables.
