8 pin ic ATH75202CMCN1752GKW Any ideas Please?

    Hi there

Does anybody recognise what this IC is or it's functionality please?
I have searched everywhere, and can't make out the Logo manufacturer.

    8 pin ic ATH75202CMCN1752GKW

On the other side of the PCB is, what seems to be a 9 Pin serial D-Type Male connector.

    It seems like a Dongle

    Thanks

      Sam_Sam_Sam Thankyou

That really helps, let me look and read the Datasheet you sent me and keep you updated.

That could make sense as the IC could be a Programmable one, which means I will try and put it on the new EEPROM blower and see if it recognises it, and also download any info on the Chip?

Hi stj - It’s a Dongle that I know little to nothing about and asked if I can find any info about it.

It seems like there is no info or datasheets available, except the lead sam_sam_sam posted

            Thanks

Does the Manufacturers Logo look familiar at all?

                Re: Any ideas Please?

well if it's a security device then obviously is a microcontroller of some type with either a lookup table or an algorythm in it for processing the data.

if you have the plastic shell with the name on then finding info to hack it would be possible

                  Re: Any ideas Please?

Hi stj - I will email a few companies to see if they can recognise and supply 1.

I have since found that it’s a dongle for a cd cleaning machine, so I will try and download the code and see if I can disassemble it, and compare with a new untouched ones code.

                  It’s worth a shot

                      Re: Any ideas Please?

it's probably simpler to get a dump of the harddrive and hack out the checks

stj - th emost Obvious idea I have overlooked.
To simply connect the IC to my EEPROM blower and see what it recognises.

                        Would the Code be Encyrypted?
In the old days Games could be hacked with the DOS "Debug" command, and Softice

As an Update one company has got back to me as stated that the AT at the front could mean it is "ATMEL"

It appears to be an ATMEL AT24C02C

but a serial port runs at +-12v
you would blow the atmel to bits unless the fact that it's a 9way D is just coincidence.
we need to see the rest of the hardware.

Hey stj Ok, thanks for that.

Would you recommend anyway of reading it please?
I still have some RS232 cables, and a serial card/pc

unless you can look at what it plugs into then forget it.
and your not going to read a secure device.

software hack is the optimal aproach
