Will my soldering iron be good for motherboard recapping?

    Hi,

    I have this iron: https://www.amazon.ca/Weller-WLC100-.../dp/B000AS28UC

What worries me is that the iron plugs into the 3 pronged plug on the station but it doesn't have a ground, just a 2 pronged plug.
To be clear, the station plugs into the wall with a 3 pronged plug. But then the iron plugs into the station itself which has a 3 prongs plug on its side (seen on the last picture on the Amazon listing). The soldering iron that plugs there only has 2 prongs, i.e. no ground.

Is it dangerous to attempt fixing the motherboard by replacing 4 caps on it with that iron?

The inexpensive Weller soldering irons are terrible products. Especially the irons with the tip that is screwed on the iron. The tip gets damaged too easily.

i'm pretty sure that's just a $10 mains iron with a lamp-dimmer in the base.

So... Will I damage my board or not?
