Overcoming the pixel clock limit on programmable video generators

On my Black Star PVG1000 programmable video generator, I faced a limitation for very high resolutions (above 1280x1024 60 Hz) which was the maximum pixel clock rate being 110 MHz for my unit.
So at the expense of horizontal resolution (and in some cases, clock rate error as well), I tried half the pixel clock and half the required Horizontal values (the required Vertical values were unchanged), which worked perfectly.
Since the Aspect Ratio can be set on my unit, this was fortunately not an issue.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.
