    Dell 1703FPT LCD Help

I have a Dell 1703FPT monitor and one day it just went blank. Switched to new VGA cable and DVI cable. No avail.

    Symptoms:

    1) When plugging in, it displays a scrambled image (see attached pic) rotated 90* CCW.

    2) Monitor glows along the edges but no display

    3) Green power button stays lit and cannot be turned off. Monitor can't be turned off either.

    4) With VGA cable unplugged, it doesn't display anything like "monitor disconnected". Just a blank screen w/ glowing edges.

    5) I've tried it on 2 other computers. They don't display either.

Another note, I tried DVI and VGA and neither works. Same result.
Opened it up last night and didn't notice any buldging caps or broken traces either.

Any ideas? Inverter? Bad cap? Thanks.

I don't know about the glowing edges, but the inverter doesn't have to do anything with the rotated/scrambled image. The video/main board would be my first guess.
