Thanks Spidey, the job started as, what I thought was, a DC Jack replacement but I found a piece of metal from the nearby usb port causing a short (SPARKS).
So I need to see whats dead.
Can't get back to the job till monday, will let you know.

this can make your lappy no display fault.
perhaps the one that is linked to your usb 5v line you will likely to start.
Hi Dear all, I have a dell inspiron N5110 nb. It is not powering. I have checked with schematic, and PU4102 and PU4106 both are faulty and i have replaced it. and found the PU4103 is heating toomuch when i plug the power adapter to the DC jack. Can you please tel me what to do. And reason for it. how can i repair my laptop. please help me......

check any capacitors short around super i/o.if so remove super i/o and check pu4103 heating.
if it still heats then remove lan ic and check
still if it heats then pch may be dought
