    Shuttle SS40G FS40 confirmed bad?

Can anyone confirm if the Shuttle XPC SS40G FS40 board has the bad caps?
I have one that has exhibited the symptoms:
Started taking long to turn on, had to warm up for a while.
Now will not boot, only sits there with fan on max.

I'm also worried about some other Shuttle XPCs I have, SS51G and SK41G, are they past the capacitor plague era? How far does it extend in the Shuttle XPC line?

    Thanks
    JD

Haven't specifically encountered those models, but older Shuttle FV/SV-24/25s had bad Gloria caps by default. Shuttle boxes also often use Channel-Well PSUs with Fuhjyyu caps, usually pronounced 'Fukk-you' for good reason.

They should work OK after a recap of both the mobo and PSU.

      time to inspect it.
you need to blow the dust out anyway.
      open the psu too.
i just had a shuttle shoebox pc in here with bad caps in the mobo and psu.
it was a socket 478 board

A lot of the Shuttle PSUs contain CapXon caps but they fail due to heat issues.

Keep in mind that CapXon is a mediocre brand as well.
