Sharp Aquos Quattron LC-52LE810UN odd issue

If TV is upright TV runs for 14 minutes then turns off. At this point it tries to come back on every 5 seconds. At the 1 minute mark it came on for 14 minutes again and keeps repeating this process. When I place the TV face down with the back removed it runs fine. I've had the TV on this way for over 2 hours with no power cycling. Both the power supply and main board have been replaced. Any help please.

Tightened all screws and checked all connections. As soon as I lift it upright it turned off within a minute. Unplug unit set TV face down and re plugged and it's working again.

Try tapping on the boards with wooden stick or plastic stick while TV is facing down, also try moving the cables around to see what happen. Also did you try post #2?

Tapped away while TV facing down no change. TV still going strong. Might have to install over bed to watch on ceiling.

How about post #2 while TV is upright?

Had a sony did the same thing, a replacement mainboard fixed it.

I have 2 main boards and it's doing it with both. I tried to putting the main board upright while the TV was face down TV stayed on. I had a similar problem with a Samsung and it was the main board.

Check all solder joints on powerboard, look closely at the joints of components on heatsinks and transformers as they take the most abuse, sometimes a joint looks good but can be bad or loose, some will actually wiggle when loose/bad.

I've fixed a main board with similar issue by baking in the oven for 10 min. Not sure if it would damage the power supply board if I baked it?

LOL, baking the powerboard would be a first that I've heard of, they bake mainboards to reconnect solder of bga chips but don't always work or last very long, that's IF the board keeps overheating, some have used a fan solution after baking with a lot of success.

Not sure it's the power supply board as I had it standing upright while the TV laid face down. TV working fine for over 10 minutes now. Going to try the main board next.

Now have the main board in upright position for over 10 minutes with no glitch. Could it be the T-con board?

With the screen face down turn it on with mainboard unscrewed in upright pos. then bent it gently, if it stop working a reballing is needed, if its not the mainboard try the PSU. using gloves or better a wood spoon.

Turn out that the power supply that I had gotten was bad. Replaced the power supply board and that fixed the problem.
