Acer has only bios update for this model-so old bios is needed to build new bios. Post your old bios here. Someone will try to fix it.

@Gonma, I'm bit confused. I think this mb should have 8MB as main bios and 512K as EC bios whereas your posted bios is 4mb. Can you recheck and confirm the size of your bios eeprom on mb?

the one with the letter 64 in the name of the chip should be your main bios.

                                  Upgrade from Sandy to Ivy

Hi everyone, maybe you can help me? I'm trying to upgrade my Aunt's old Acer AIO Aspire Z5771 system by installing an SSD, 8GB RAM and a clean install of Win 10. I would also like to upgrade her old Pentium G620 sandy bridge CPU to a Core i5-3470s ivy bridge which I have already purchased. The technical manual for her system says the system should support an i7-3770s, i5-3330s and i3-2400s, so I assumed it should support the Core i5-3470s (provided the motherboard can support the BIOS file size).

Unfortunately, when I install the CPU and power on, I just get a blank screen and 4 beeps, which I believe means the current BIOS doesn't support ivy bridge CPUs. There are BIOSes on the ACER webpage that do support ivy bridge, but I can't get any of them to flash. I just get a message saying the BIOS size (3MB bin file) doesn't match the current BIOS size (2MB bin file). I have made sure the files are fully unzipped, so that isn't the problem. The BIOS Chip is a 4MB Winbond 25Q32BVSIG so I thought that would be large enough. The motherboard version is 1.04. I have seen board versions 1.02 and 1.06 online, so mine is in the middle.

I'm not sure if the bios in the following thread will help me?

                                  Thread

I have included all relevant information below (including a link to the BIOS files available for this motherboard).

System: Acer AIO Aspire Z5771, manufactured 23 Sept 2011 (Part Number: DO.SL1AA.001)
                                  Motherboard: Acer IPISB-AG Rev 1.04, LGA1155, H61 Express
                                  BIOS: P01-A1 dated 4 May 2012 (originally P01-A0 dated 26 Aug 2011, Bios webpage
                                  Bios Chip: Winbond 25Q32BVSIG (32Mbit, 4MB)
CPU: Intel Pentium G620 65W (sandy bridge)
New CPU: Intel Core i5-3470s 65W (ivy bridge)

Using AFUWIN from within Windows 7 to flash BIOS

Please find attached P01-A1 which is my current bios that fails to recognise the new Intel Core i5-3470s ivy bridge CPU.

Is this what you wanted? So long since I have done any of this stuff.
